- The contribution made by Cecabank will enable 36 families from the Asociación Niños Especiales de La Palma to continue their therapy sessions free of charge, for at least one year, in the facilities provided by the local councils.

Cecabank joins the wave of solidarity with La Palma. As part of its social commitment to the most disadvantaged groups, the institution has carried out a solidarity action to help those affected by the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. To do its bit, Cecabank has collaborated with the Asociación Niños Especiales de La Palma (NEP) to improve access to its facilities since, due to the accumulation of lava, families are forced to travel for almost two hours, for a trip that before the tragedy barely took 10 minutes.
The Association seeks to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families. In order to continue to provide them with assistance, despite the emergency situation, NEP has set up various alternatives that have allowed the continuity of the rehabilitation therapies and the Day Centre in the premises temporarily donated by the local councils of El Paso, Los Llanos de Aridane and Fuencaliente.
The financial contribution made by Cecabank will allow 36 families from the Association to continue with their therapy sessions (Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, Pedagogy and Adapted Sports) free of charge for at least one year, in the facilities provided by the local councils. At the same time, it also finances travel to the homes of those who, due to their delicate situation, can only be cared for in their own homes.
For Juan Carlos López Díaz, Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations Manager at Cecabank, "at the institution we are fully committed to tackling social problems, and specifically those that affect the most disadvantaged groups. With our contribution to the Asociación Niños Especiales de La Palma (NEP), we want to help provide the best possible care for people with disabilities and their families, especially for those who were directly affected by the eruption of the volcano".
Juan Carlos López Díaz adds that "this collaboration would not have been possible without the help of the Fundación CajaCanarias and the Fundación La Caja de Canarias, which alerted us to the needs of the Asociación Niños Especiales de La Palma. For Cecabank, it is an honour to be able to respond to emergencies such as the one that took place in La Palma".
