On 9 June FundsPeople organises the event The Future of the Depositary with leading Spanish depositary institutions such as Cecabank. The aim is to address the main trends that the sector is experiencing and the challenges and opportunities it faces to continue adapting its services to the needs of fund managers.
José María Marcos, General Director of Institutions at the CNMV, will open the conference. This will be followed by two round tables. The first will focus on the boom in alternative assets and its impact on the depositary sector. It will feature Alejandro de los Ojos, Director of Sales and Customer Relations at CACEIS Bank Spain; Aurora Cuadros, Corporate Director of Securities Services at Cecabank; Felipe Guirado, Head of Sales for Spain and Portugal at BNP Paribas Securities Services; and María Dolores Domínguez Haro, Head of Depositary Services at BBVA. It will be chaired by Gregorio Arranz, Secretary-Coordinator of ADEPO.
The second round table will focus on sustainability and the search for new sources of profitability. It will feature Alberto Gomez-Reino, Head of Sustainable Investment at BBVA AM in Spain; Lili Corredor, CEO of Ibercaja Gestión; Roberto Sobrino, Head of Back Office and Administration at Magallanes Value Investors; and Raquel Arteaga, Director of Financial and Non-financial Risk Management at Mapfre AM. It will be chaired by Arantxa Rubio, editor of FundsPeople.
The event will also boast the participation of Elisa Ricón, CEO of Inverco, who will give her general overview of the industry and the main new developments; and Carlos Navarro, Head of Blockchain & Digital Assets at Deloitte in Spain, who will provide an insight into the cryptoasset market and review what steps to take to adapt business models to the new ecosystem.
