- Employees, trade unions and the bank itself participate in this initiative to help the most vulnerable groups
- The donation, intended entirely for the #CruzRojaResponde project, aims to prevent risks affecting health and social well-being
Cecabank has joined the #CruzRojaResponde project as part of its corporate social responsibility plan and in an effort to alleviate the damage caused by the COVID-19 crisis. The project launched by the Red Cross seeks to prevent health risks and social difficulties arising from the health crisis.
On 3 April, Cecabank launched a donation campaign among its employees; the bank then doubled the amount collected. With donations from employees, trade unions and the bank, a total contribution of 55,350 euros will be made to this charity project to fight COVID-19.
The #CruzRojaResponde initiative is focused on helping groups that are already vulnerable. These groups include the elderly, persons with prior medical conditions or disabilities, children, the homeless, women experiencing social difficulties, immigrants, etc.
The programme sets forth different responses to help resolve problems affecting health, social inclusion, education, employment and the environment. All of this comes from the Red Cross's own regional network and its volunteers.
Cecabank, committed to society
Cecabank's social action policy seeks the commitment of both employees and the bank. In this way, it encourages pride in belonging at all times. One of its most ambitious projects is the "TÚ ELIGES" programme, which distributes 100,000 euros each year among 15 social, cultural and environmental projects. All these projects are chosen by employees.
Cecabank's contribution to humanitarian emergencies is also highlighted by UNHCR, the Red Cross, Doctors of the World or the Emergency Committee as a whole. Other lines of action include the sponsorship of the Food Bank of Madrid, the creation of computer classrooms for the Oratory of the Caballero de Gracia and the Bobath Foundation, in support of disadvantaged groups. In addition, in collaboration with its employees, Cecabank organises charity markets, clothing and food collection campaigns and blood donation campaigns.
