At the 2022 General Assembly session, Sanda Ojiambo, Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and CEO of UN Global Compact, presented the Contigo Somos+ Awards. These awards recognise the work of Global Compact partners that have successfully attracted new members. Juan Carlos López, Head of Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations at Cecabank, was entrusted with collecting the award presented to the bank during the ceremony.
This edition brought together the 2020, 2021 and 2022 influencer partners, whose ceremony had been postponed due to the pandemic.
Víctor Viñuales, Deputy Chairman of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, hosted the event at the Palacio de la Bolsa in Madrid. Sanda Ojiambo and the Chairman of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, Clara Arpa, were entrusted with the presentation of the awards. According to Arpa, "a distinction that recognises the actions taken by our partners that contribute to strengthening networking and increasing the number of members of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact".
The Contigo Somos+ awards were presented in two categories: bronze and silver. The bronze insignia is awarded to those partner companies that succeeded in bringing between one and four partners into the Global Compact over the course of a year; the silver insignia is reserved for those who brought in between five and ten new members.
As acknowledged by the chairperson, thanks to this initiative, which began in 2014, a total of 120 organisations have joined as partners. Addressing the influencers, she stressed "your outreach work and example is key to speeding up the process of reaching more and more companies, at a key moment in time, where the transformation must be agile".
