- Both organisations have signed a collaboration agreement to promote initiatives within the framework of the digital laboratory CK-Lab
- The purpose is to promote dialogue between the administrations, banks and fintech companies for the development of the digital financial society
Cecabank and the Foro Fintech have reached a collaboration agreement to establish cooperation formulas between banks and fintech companies, with a view to drive innovative initiatives that help to develop new technologies in the financial services sector.
Within the framework of CK-Lab – the financial digital transformation laboratory created by Cecabank – Public Administrations, banks and fintech companies will collaborate in initiatives related to technological innovation. They will also take part in the search for a regulatory framework that favours the development of a digital financial company.
Cecabank, the benchmark Spanish company in wholesale banking, and Foro Fintech, a meeting point for regulation in the Spanish fintech sector, have joined forces to foster dialogue between the stakeholders that comprise the fintech ecosystem in Spain.
Cecabank's planned activities and the Fintech Forum
Activities included training in digital skills for professionals in the financial sector. This also includes the creation of service platforms in collaboration with Foro Fintech partners.This will enable efficient management in terms of payments, digital identity and other matters as agreed between the entities.
This initiative represents one more step for Cecabank in its commitment to technological innovation in Spain's financial sector. The chairman, Antonio Massanell, had this to say on the initiative: “The fact that the digital transformation of banking is one of the biggest challenges facing the sector, is nothing new. We are beholding an unstoppable process that is changing the manner of our relationship with the customer. It is compelling us to overhaul digital service channels and services and our way of working, in general. With this new alliance, Cecabank seeks to continue to offer the cutting-edge solutions demanded by its customers. In this regard, the fluid collaboration between banks and fintech companies, promoted by CK-Lab, is essential for achieving this goal.
Furthermore, Marta Plana, the chair of Foro Fintech, has stressed that “at Foro Fintech we are very satisfied to have reached this collaboration agreement with Cecabank. The combination of its experience in the banking business processes, and its expertise in financial tasks, together with the disruption we provide to fintech companies, will make for a highly interesting alliance over the coming years.”
