Cecabank awarded the Integra Commitment 2020 Distinction

  • The Integra Foundation honours companies that are committed to the social and labour integration of people at risk of social exclusion.

An event that recognises the work of companies, which this year, heavily shaped by the circumstances, have offered job opportunities to people at risk of social exclusion and people with disabilities through employment integration, training and special support during COVID19. The companies that form part of Integra Commitment contributed in 2020 with a social impact of over 1,500 jobs.

Integra Foundation awards its annual HR awards at the Caser Seguros Auditorium. An event that brings together company presidents and HR directors from the best companies in Spain that are part of Integra Commitment. A network of companies committed to socially responsible employment, launched by Fundación Integra in 2015 and currently comprising 50 companies. 

The purpose of this event is to honour and recognise in a special manner the commitment of companies to the labour integration of the most vulnerable people in society, in a year marked by the worsening of the situation of people at risk of social exclusion.

The event was attended by José Luis Martínez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid, the Executive President of Integra Foundation, Ana Botella, and the CEO of Grupo Caser, Mr Ignacio Eyriés.

Hiring Awards

For having offered a significant number of contracts, the following persons accepted awards on behalf of their companies: Fernando Abril-Martorell, Chairman of Indra, Simón Pedro Barceló, Chairman of Grupo Barceló, Carmen Matutes, Deputy Director-General of Palladium Hotel Group, Cristóbal Valderas, Chairman of Grupo Clece (ACS Group), Ignacio Pérez-Carasa, Director of Labour Relations at Alsa, and Ruth Ochagavia, Director of Human Resources at Alcalá de Puig.

Awards for commitment to training and volunteering

The University Francisco de Vitoria has been honoured in this category for contributing, with its scholarship programme, to the professional training of people at risk of social exclusion, and for its corporate volunteering programme. The award was accepted by Daniel Sada, the University's Vice-Chancellor. Acciona also received an award for its efforts to promote corporate volunteering among its staff and for the work of its employees at the Foundation's School, providing employment training to people at risk of social exclusion. This award was accepted by Juan Ignacio Entrecanales, the company's Executive Vice President.

HR Special Mentions and Distinctions

HR Special Mentions for their work in hiring people in vulnerable situations were received by:  Victoria Galán Galván, HR Director at Gesvalt, Lucas Sánchez Carretero, HR Manager at Ferrovial, Iván Vegas Caballero, Head of Talent Acquisition at Grupo Cofares, María Jesús Algaba Álvarez, Director of Operational Personnel Selection at Grupo Eulen, Ignacio Rojo Rivas, Director of Human Resources at Urbaser, and the HR team at Carrefour España and Fundación Solidaria Carrefour España, with the award being accepted by Gloria Cuadrado and María Cid.

HR Mentions 2020

 

Distinctions were awarded to SAGITAL, CECABANK and ÁUREA FOUNDATION, which this year jointed the Integra Commitment network. The Distinctions were accepted by Javier Asencio Pascual, Operations and Business Development Director at SAGITAL, Juan Carlos López Díaz, Head of Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations at CECABANK, and Irene Gallardo, Director of the ÁUREA FOUNDATION.

Special Recognitions

At this event, the Integra Foundation paid special recognition to the role played by El Corte Inglés and Endesa, companies that offered their help to people at risk of social exclusion who were placed in dramatic situations by the pandemic. The award was accepted by Marta Álvarez, President of El Corte Inglés, and José D. Bogas Gálvez, CEO of Endesa and Vice President of the Endesa Foundation.

Special Recognition Awards

'Ana Botella, the Foundation's president, thanked the attending companies which, in conjunction with the Integra Foundation, have been generating 19 years of social impact, 'and that, in such a difficult year for beneficiaries and for the business community, they are providing more support than ever to the people who need it the most, going to great lengths to hire our people, to maintain employment, and to support us financially so that we could continue to help them'.

The event was closed by José Luis Martínez-Almeida, Mayor of Madrid, who highlighted the work of the Integra Foundation and stated that 'when we have to face a crisis like the one we are experiencing, the efforts of the private sector and the push of the public sector are essential. The best way to restore dignity to people at risk of social exclusion is for them to find a job and feel fulfilled'.
