Letter from the President
In little more than two years since
its creation, Cecabank has become
a benchmark in the Spanish
specialist wholesale financial
services market. Midway through
our first Strategic Plan (2013-
2016), we know who we are, what
we do, and how and where we
want to grow.
Cecabank is a Spanish-owned
wholesale bank, providing services
of high quality for demanding
customers including the full range
of financial institutions and large
companies. Our strengths are
closely linked to our values:

our high level of specialisation
in the financial sector, which
is the product of many years’
experience, places us in a
leading position in terms of
knowledge and rigour;
•
our technological capacity
enables us to handle large
processing volumes with high
precision, and highlights our
ability to adapt to change;
•
and our prudent and rigorous
management, with the aim
of preserving our solvency,
demonstrates the art of
prudence that we apply to our
daily activity.
We dedicate ourselves with
professionalism to three major
lines of service:
Securities Services
covers
the whole securities depositary,
custodian and settlement value
chain both nationally and
internationally. This has been
the fastest-growing line since our
foundation: we are the benchmark
independent national depositary
for collective investment
institutions and pension funds
(CII/PF); and we have the
necessary know-how to
carry out different depositary
business integration processes
simultaneously in the shortest
possible time.
In
Treasury Management
,
we conduct trading operations,
liquidity management, collateral,
derivatives, etc. on a proprietary
and third-party basis; we are
market makers for Spanish
government debt; a member of the
four central counterparties; and
we are leaders in the wholesale
banknote distribution market.
And in
Banking Services
we
offer specialised business process
support in payments, channels
and business intelligence; we are
technology-capacity intensive,
enabling us to offer a wide range
of banking services that require
process management, such as
means of payment or business
intelligence; we have a full
network of foreign correspondents
through which to conduct foreign
business; and we offer financial
training services through our own
school, as well as consulting and
regulatory advisory services.
Thanks to these different
strands, ultimately we know how
and where we intend to grow in
the future:

supported by its opening up
to the market and significant
widening of its potential
customer base: we aspire to
provide services to all financial
institutions, independently of
how and where they operate;

the composition of our business,

in which we find ourselves, and
which we aim to lead;

the frontiers of our knowledge.
